Hello!
Zoë Carr is a third-year design student at the University of San Francisco originally from Seattle, Washington. She is currently working towards a BA in Design with a minor in Advertising. She adores creating art out of old magazines, fabric scraps, found objects, and discarded treasures —a practice she has cherished since childhood. Her design work combines the charm of analog practices like collage and hand-drawn type and illustration with contemporary digital techniques. Zoë currently works at the Graphics Center, the student-run graphic design firm at the University of San Francisco, as a junior designer. In this role, Zoë works with clients to develop various promotional materials for school organizations and their events. Her work at the Graphics Center includes projects such as logos, rebranding, merchandise design, event posters, social media content, digital signage, and article graphics for the school newspaper: the USF Foghorn.
Zoë particularly enjoys unearthing the context, history, and stories that surround each project. Her extensive research provides a foundation for meaningful and resonant design. By weaving thoughtful details from her research into her work she can create designs that are informed, captivating, and deeply connected to the essence of the subject matter.
She is interested primarily in book design, branding, and product packaging. However, she is excited to expand her knowledge and skills to many different design disciplines and techniques.
When she isn't in the design studio you will find her baking sourdough bread, running in Golden Gate Park, reworking old textiles and secondhand clothing, taking care of her plants, and staying curious about the world around her. Zoë is driven by a perpetual quest for inspiration and a deep appreciation for the small and wonderful things in life.
